    Does anybody still get anxiety symptoms despite feeling relaxed?

    Has anybody still had symptoms from anxiety despite taking meds and/or not feeling overly anxious?

    Absolutely. I can't say for sure why, but it's probably our subconscious selves still feeling anxious. It's the worst when we feel anxiety symptoms, but we don't know what we're anxious over.

    Unfortunately when we're feeling relaxed with nothing in particular on our mind is when it's likely to sneak up on us.
    Keeping busy when possible helps but we can't be on the go all the time.

    Great metaphor. And by "long time" we're not talking hours, days or even weeks. It can take months to relax the mind and body to a point where symptoms disappear.

    Yes, but I am also very prone to triggers - news headlines about diseases, cancers etc

    My current worry is bowel cancer, and I must have come across 4/5 news articles recently, and I keep thinking are they signs.

    I think you will have to make a conscious effort not to "come across" triggers such as news articles and Dr Google plus scaremongering health websites, Mr Lurcher..You know it makes sense if you want to douse down the HA flames...?

    Oh gosh yes...and it freaks me out a little more every time that happens. I think it has something to do with the chemicals produced by stress/previous anxiety. It is like a bed of hot coals (as mentioned above) still hot, still capable of producing a fire...but smolderong. You just need to give it time and then eventually, it will just disappear.
