We don't know but they will find out. What we do know is that the big one you fear would have made you very ill by now unless you are some unheard of medical miracle. But whatever they find, you will cope. There is little choice and whilst it may feel the end of the world at first you will find a way to accept things because what other choice is there?

The time is here now. Anticipation anxiety can be taken over by "just getting on with it". The waiting up to this point is always where anxiety runs rampant.

But tell them everything. Don't leave out what you have been experiencing the last 12 months or so. And I mean everything, the worms included. They are not going to judge you or being embarassed...they spend their days up people's bottoms! Write it all down in bullet points so you can get it all across. If you leave stuff out you will oly be back on here with "what if they missed xyz because I didn't mention...", we see it all the time

I don’t feel at all like I have cancer now, honestly my appetite is better than ever, I’m ravenous 24/7 but it’s just the blood and often the mucus

It hasn’t quite been 12 months yet, we’re leading up to 10 months in 10 days

I just feel like the time is finally here for me to get diagnosed and I’m not ready

Even if they do.....still doesn't mean cancer...there is a vast array of other bowel conditions inbetween!!

Just got back

He performed a rigid sigmoidoscopy exam and said after “everyone has three hemherroid veins but sometimes they get enlarged, one of yours is slightly bigger than the others”, and then I said “so you’d diagnose that as hemherroids?” and he said “yes”. He said it would be hemherroids before triggered by harder stools and that my symptoms don’t match up with bowel cancer. He didn’t book a colonoscopy or anything

So that means hemherroids? I’m a bit worried because he didn’t initially say “You’ve got swollen hemherroids” he just said that one is slightly enlarged than the other so that’ll be what’s bleeding when you have a hard stool

I’m slightly reassured but do hemherroids that are “slightly enlarged” ever even bleed at all?

Congratulations on your diagnosis Toby, but you have seen a specialist who has given you the all clear but still you are questioning them.

He knows better than you or any of us here what he is talking about.

Time to make an effort to stop the destructive HA cycle.

You have told us that it wasn't worth looking for help with your mental problems or trying to eat better because there was no point.

Now that you have the all clear you have every reason to take care of yourself.
