C125 test

Hi I have been having tummy bloating for over a month and now am getting pelvic pain, both aching and shooting pains. My lower back also aches a lot. I visited the doctor today and was expecting to be sent away either to come back after my period which is due next week or sent away with ibs medication. So I was surprised when he sent me away with a ultrasound referral and loads of blood tests including a ca125 which is a ovarian cancer test. I am now really scared and worried as although I had oc in my head I didn’t expect the doctor to suspect it too :(

This is normal.

I recently had an ultrasound (which showed multiple fibroids) and I am waiting for blood tests at the end of this month to check various things.

So I wouldn't worry - they are just being thorough.

Hi. I think it’s pretty much standard for the bloods and ca125 so wouldn’t worry too much about that. Your gp is just being thorough.

How did you get on? I’ve had an elevated ca-125 so need an urgent ultrasound
