Hi I’m new here and found this site while trying to find self help groups and natural ways to reduce or beat my GAD.
I was put on sertraline, but the side effects actually cause my anxiety to increase and so now I’m looking for alternative ways.
I’ve had anxiety , panic attacks and overwhelming fear since I was a child. My father although not physically abusive to me and my brothers (much) regularly beat my mum and put us through fairly mental abuse. Grief along the way and other issues including severe bullying as a child and again as an adult in the work place caused me to have a mental meltdown down. In a way, it was a relief to finally have a diagnosis after years of trying to hide it ( which wasn’t that difficult since I was brought up in a environment where traumatic experiences are treated as being soft and needing to harden up etc
Anyway that was a bit of a ramble so I’ll leave it there
