    How long?

I'm now on the NHS's waiting list for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, but they won't tell me when it'll be my turn. I've heard that in some places you have to wait two years before you will get dealt with.

This has made me feel a bit annoyed. I have always been rather impatient, and TWO years is too long to wait. I am kind of upset that I might not get any CBT till I'm into my 20s, and I also can't bear to think of how I'm going to cope in the meantime.

The waiting list here is 6-10 months so it is not uncommon.

Keep pushing for it and reminding them about it.

You could wave the NICE guidelines at them as I am sure they say it should be shorter than that at least.

You can help yourself by reading books and learning all you can about your issues. At the end of the day that is how the CBT therapists know so much - they read all about it then put it into practise.

    Good luck.
