Thread: My throat is bleeding, help.

    My throat is bleeding, help.

About an hour ago I was eating a sandshich and some chips and one of the chips went down my throat funny and scratched it towards the top of my throat and then I swallowed it. Ever since then I feel something dripping into my throat like blood and I am constantly coughing and my stomach is a little upset. Don’t know if I cut my throat and it’s bleeding or not, or maybe I just scratched it, but if I only scratched it, what is the dripping feeling I feel and why would my stomach be upset?

Thank you for your responses ahead of time

When I had surgery in my mouth and throat, I started bleeding around two weeks later at home. There was no mistaking it as I was coughing up blood. I ended up having to go back into surgery to stop the bleeding. If your throat is bleeding... truly bleeding, what are doing posting here?

I wanted to see if anyone else like yourself has stories.. I’m not coughing up blood or anything, but it feels like it’s bleeding. Maybe I’m over reacting but I just wanted to see some other people’s stories or thoughts

Maybe? Never heard of anyone bleeding to death from a potato chip throat scratch.

It’s more or so if an infection could enter my body, I’ve heard that esophagus infections are very deadly

    I agree with FMP.
Surely if you were bleeding your bodies natural response would be to cough it up of it's own accord.
I've scratched my throat with eating hundreds of times.
The odd fish bone, crisp, shell......
You need to trust your body to deal with its natural functions. And the throat is far more robust than you realise, just think of all the rubbish we chuck down it.
