Tight feeling in throat

Sometimes if I'm in a room where a lot of people are talking all at once and it gets very loud and noisy, I get this sort of tight feeling somewhere between my chest and throat. Often I want to speak but the feeling sort of prevents me from doing it, I know I could speak if I really tried but I just can't bring myself to do it. Could this stem from social anxiety?

Almost certainly. CBT helped me understand that there is a clear relationship between our feelings, thoughts, behaviours and physiology. Understanding what is causing the anxiety in those situations will enable you to challenge it and stop this from happening.
