I'm experiencing the throat thing again and I know how scary it can feel. I've had it on and off for the past 6 years and even though I should know by now that it's anxiety, it continues to throw me into panic mode. It's very real when you experience it.

So, just reading some of the posts in this section, I really felt for you all and wanted to offer you a big, virtual hug

i hate this feeling because of health anxiety.

And it's back!! Excessive mucous in my throat, which I can't seem to clear and which sends me into an anxiety tailspin. Constantly trying to clear my throat. Someone suggested pineapple juice for clearing it. I found it helped for a couple of days but the problem is that my anxiety causes it and so it seems to happen anyway. Any more panicky throat clearers around tonight?

You've got one!! Your "every mouthful is an adventure in panic" is absolutely brilliant. That is just how it is. I can feel my whole body tense every time I eat. And I find myself watching other people eating and thinking, how can you be so relaxed?
