Hi, I'm new to this site and I'm amazed and comforted by the huge number of people who get the same symptoms as me of missed heartbeats. I've been getting episodes intermittently for about 10 years but this past Xmas week has been the worst ever. Constant missed beats in patterns of couplets or triplets for all my waking hours. Its made me obssessed about my pulse and its ruined my holidays. I feel totally wrecked. My GP has started me on Citalopram 10mg and says it may be related to my menopause but I think its anxiety induced as I have a very pressurised job and Xmas week was hugely pressurised, but maybe I don't cope as well as normal because of my irregular hormones. God knows! All I know is, I've been told time and time again that they're benign and I'll not die just yet. Its hard to accept this as a comfort. Big Xmas dinners don't help either..or the alcohol!!!
And I've lost my sense of humour too!! My poor family are keeping low profiles.
I'm 48 and I have never been like this before...its a total shock.
Thanks for letting me offload...feel better already :)

Yep Loll, me too. Had missed beats BAD for several months recently but semmed to have calmed down now. Had lots of test at hospital but not probs. Part of my anxiety probs etc.... I guess. i know its not easy but do try not to focus on then they only get worse when you do. By the way specialist told me they are not actually missed beats but an extra beat with another, so its like 2 beats together and with a pause as the heart goes back to normal rythm, and very common actually and benine. so try not worry
all the best
