    reducing dosage

i am on pregabalin and have been for three years for my anxiety however it has made my self harm worse and the weight gain is unbearable. i was on 400mg but have weaned myself to 300mg and am starting to feel better. i want to wean myself to the next step of 200mg but everytime i try i start to struggle and the anxiety gets worse. how can i manage this to be able to wean myself to 200mg in order to stop taking pregabalin altogether?

    Re: reducing dosage

    Hi Xanadu,

200 mg is half the dose of 400 mg, so it's something to take carefully. Don't be in a hurry - although some people can reduce quickly, others need months. My advice is always to take a reduction in steps as gentle as possible, and not be afraid to stay at any level until you feel quite comfortable before moving on to the next reduction. Good luck.
