Worried about Oven Cleaner Chemicals

I have health anxiety but I’ve been so good lately. I do worry sometimes about food making me sick. Like if meat isn’t cooked enough I’ll get salmonella poisoning.

Well today I cleaned my oven. I followed the directions on the bottle. I put the oven on 200 degrees f. I sprayed the cleaner and let it sit for 15 minutes. Then I wet a sponge and wiped it off. Well my husband asked did you clean off the cleaner enough. I said yes but now I’m worried I didn’t. I made dinner in the oven and ate it. Now I’m panicking that I will die from these chemicals on my food. Please help.

Well I know exactly how you feel if that's any comfort! I've been through this same fear with chemical cleaners and I think the only actual answer is to wait and see what happens unfortunately. Hopefully you managed to have some time of not being in a freak out and if you're reading this then the chemicals didn't harm you.

Thanks for replying. Obviously I survived. Hahaha. My husbdand said the food would taste like oven cleaner if it were all over it. Good to know.
