I went for my dental cleaning.
Everything went well, and near the end the dental hygienist asked me if I could feel a little spot. I said no, and she said it was probably scar tissue or possible from a burn.

I felt nervous. The dentist came in, did her exam and didn't even mention it. She looked a lot around the area, because I had an old filling (nearby) and signs of teeth wear (from grinding).

When I got to my car, I looked and saw a little white bump on my gum, right at tooth line. I am now scared it is cancer, and I think I should have asked the dentist more.

On the other hand, I think I am being extreme and it likely is just scar tissue. I wish I could get the cancer thought out of my head! Of course Google says white patches can be cancer.

I am 42 y/o male. None smoker, don't chew tobacco so no risk factors.
