Anxiety over partner - cut in throat

So long story. My girlfriend basically felt like she had a spot or lump on the roof of her mouth so wanted me to touch it and see what it was. Sounds very odd out of the situation and context.

Basically someone jogged my arm as I did it and I scratched the back of her throat, possibly on the side near a tonsil and it bled.

We are on holiday so dont have much here. I got her to brush her teeth and gargle with the toothpaste. Then bought some salt and got her to gargle with that.

She wasnt in any pain at the time but she said it's now getting sore. We are now out at the pub/bar with nothing around. I had a quick look in her throat and it looks a little swollen and possibly a bit yellow (could be wrong).

Shes not worried about it but I'm worried it's going to get infected. To top it all off it's her birthday tomorrow and I feel terribly guilty. Just wanted her to have a nice holiday :(

Shes fine but I'm panicking for her. What if it gets infected overnight and it ruins her birthday.

    Any advice is much appreciated

    It won't get infected overnight.

    Go out and enjoy yourselves.

Then I would imagine you'd feel even guiltier and she'll have to take some antibiotics.

I tell you what, why don't you worry about that if it happens instead of already starting to ruin it now for no reason?

She'll be absolutely fine. At the worst she might get a teeny ulcer. Don't worry and enjoy your hols

I had a cut in my throat over the summer it can take a little while though and it might hurt or feel itchy but don't be alarmed, odds are it will heal totally fine on its own, mine did I hope the rest of your holiday goes well!
