What in peoples experience have been the most effective ADs? I know everyone is different as is every medication but I'm struggling to find one that doesn't floor me with side effects. Thanks in advance

Everyone is different so it is hard to say. What have you tried so far? The usual tactic is to try 2 or 3 different medications from each medication class or 'family'.
Citalopram and Mirtazapine this time round. I was on citalopram years ago but this time reacted badly to it. Currently taking Flupentixol which has helped with my anxiety but not my mood. I'm not tolerating the mirtazapine either. I want to try fluoxetine or Venlafaxine as they're not as sedating. I'm really struggling.

I've tried all sorts, citalopram, fluoxetine, venlafaxine, lofepramine, escitalopram and haven't had much joy with any. Side effects were worst with the fluoxetine and citalopram. Everyone reacts differently to these meds though, what's good for one may be horrid for another. It's a terrible system of trial and error
GP has increased the Flupentixol and stopped the Mirtazapine, I doubled the dose this afternoon and already my mind is calmer. Hoping they are the right ones for me. Thanks for your replies
