I used CBT4PANIC that was here along with one on one therapy for some depression and "scanxiety" after my illnesses. I found it very straightforward and logical. It just made sense to me. While not all aspects applied to me, there were several aspects that did and I still find them useful to this day for every day stressful life situations (work, relationships etc.).
The key point though is work. It takes a concerted effort and it takes practice. I equate it to going to the gym. It takes a while to get acclimated and then you have to continue to make the effort or you can lose the progress you've made. In many ways it's a mental lifestyle change if that makes sense.
Granted it doesn't work for everyone and sometimes meds are needed to help get your head in the right place to make the effort that's needed but it works for many and is a standard method to deal with anxiety and depression issues. My therapist was all for it when I brought it up.
