I have been thinking of you Worried Male.
I am currently in the same position with my mum.
I think you are a very brave and endearing son.
You should be proud of being there for your dad, who would be proud of you too.

I'm really sorry to hear about you dad. I'm glad to hear you had the chance to talk and tell each other how much you loved each other.
What a fighter. Two months when they said he wouldn't last the night. That's one man who never gives up!
I'm sure he is very proud of you. From how you talk about him he must know he has passed these values onto you too and so you will be like him.

I'm not coping well today. I thought I had it under control, but the realisation I'm never going to see him again has hit me like a ton of bricks.
I've had to send the kids to a friend's house as I don't want them to see me like this.
I've never lost anybody this close to me before. It truly is an awful feeling.
Worried Male you held together brilliantly for your dad.
But now it is natural to feel this way.
You are now going through a grieving process and this is important for your recovery in your loss.
You did the right thing and thoughtful by sending the kids to a friend.
You ARE a very thoughtful person Worried Male, but the thoughts must be on yourself.
Seek comfort from whatever you feel like doing.
You have had the sadness with the passing of your dad.
But you have the joy and the future with your children.
In a strange way, they will keep you together and of course you will have moments of deep sadness and feel empty and lost, but it will get easier as time goes on.
So sorry for your loss, Worried Male. I know what it's like to lose a Parent. I'm here for you, if you ever want to pm me.
I am so sorry to read about your dad losing his battle. He really did hang on and fight. I have lost a parent myself and am so sorry you have to go through this.
I knew I would be sad when my dad finally went, but the this crushing soul destroying feeling is like nothing I've ever felt before.
I just feel so empty and lost. I hate being in my house. I just feel like driving somewhere and getting lost.
Maybe it is time for you to take your break and go on holiday Worried Male.
It is quite a common thing to do after something so soul destroying happens.
Grief is overwhelming and totally takes over your life. It's very difficult to think clearly and maybe you shouldn't try to in these very early, extremely painful days. There will be things to organise and it's hard to get your head round all the admin but my advice would be to take things as slowly as you can and let your family take care of you.
My sincere condolences on your loss. Nothing makes it any better but time will allow you to accept things a bit more
