Hello my name is kris, i suffer health anxiety....i am a 39yo male 5ft8, i just took my pulse which came in at 97bpm....should i be worried
No. A normal pulse rate at rest is considered to be anywhere between 60 to 100bpm. Anxiety will push your pulse rate past 100 quite easily so try not to get in the habit of self checking.
Current meds:
Pregabalin 300mg
thank you very much for your reply i really appreciate it....im desperatley trying to distract my self from checking
It's not easy I know, i'm guilty of it myself. You'll be a lot less anxious and less focused on what your heart is doing if you stop yourself from checking

Pregabalin 300mg
It also entirely depends on the context.
What were you doing? What time of day was it? Had you been walking/exercising? Were you feeling nervous/excited/anxious?
In itself that heart rate is not an issue.
With anxiety, absolutely not an issue. I'd be amazed if your heart rate was much less than 100 if you were feeling anxious. At my worst it was usually around 100-150 when I was feeling that way.
Just breath deep and tell yourself it'll pass. Because it will.
I have a heart rate of 99-101 right now. It's been like that since i've woken up. I do know from experience that it's caused by anxiety and stress. The more i check, the higher it goes. It's really hard to put down my FIT BIT! I've been an anxious mess lately :(
