Hello ladies (or gents),
I have been doing so well with my health anxiety it has almost been non- existent…until today.
I had an internal exam due to pain and some strange inter- period bleeding. The doctor said that I had a lab area of what looked like cervical ectropion and the word that has stayed with me ‘I will refer you to a gynaecologist however just to make sure’. I asked if it was common and she sad yes but usually in women in their 20s. I am 38 and now spiralling that she has referred me due to my age and it being concerning as everywhere I have read they don’t usually refer.
In fact It was only after this that I remember another GP commenting on it about 7 years ago but said it was normal- not sure it is the same area or if it is a new patch 🤷🏻*♀️
She said the referral could be up to 9 months in our local area for a colposcopy! I have no idea what to do for that wait time or how to feel.
Thanks for reading xxx
