success?

OK so I thought I'd take my own advice; I've been feeling very alone and isolated and I rarely see my friends, so I decided to meet them half way and compromise.. I'd go out clubbing with them IF it was a gay club, I thought well, Im doing something my friends enjoy and I'm likely to start to feel less isolated and more comfortable with my own sexuality.

My friends dance together, as usual Im the tag-along the one that doesnt really fit- I can't dance- so some gay guys take me under their wing and show me a few moves make me feel part of it, they get some nice girls to dance with me but its clear they are just doing it because they have been asked. It confirms everything:
Im not worth it. I'm a tag-along. no one would ever like me, I hate myself and I hate that I'm agreeing to what they say as I know it just makes me look like an even bigger fool

But hey! I went out....clubbing!!! my friends had a good night and they think I did too. So its all good. Success!

Conratulations on going clubbing! Not everyone enjoys that kinda thing, so dont beat yourself up about it!!!! You are worth it, we all are! I'm glad you can see part of it as a success!

I know you weren't looking forward to going clubbing but you still do it and whats more it sounds it was a lot better than you expected. Well done Jitt this was a really brave thing to do and a great achievement.

Jitter - you don't need to put a ? after the word success..... because it is!

Compromise is the key word here - and you've made the first move. Maybe in time you'll be confident enough to go to a straight club (or is non-gay a better word? Sorry don't know which terminology would be preferable here, you know first-hand how dopey I can be!)

One of my married daughter's best friends is gay - and she quite regularly goes out to his local club and thoroughly enjoys herself - even though she was a bit apprehensive at first bewcause she didn't know if she'd be accepted there or not. She needn't have worried! And she sees it as just another club - which is exactly what it is. And her friend regularly goes to the clubs she likes going to - they just have a great time wherever they are........

.....and so it will be for you, luvly girl......nuff of that 'I'm not worthy' c**p. I've told you before you're intelligent, funny, bright..... but ruddy infuriating sometimes, and you must allow yourself to believe that this is what people will see when they meet you!

better late reply than none at all I can see how its frustrating for you all when I always go on about how worthless I am, so I appologise. I'll try not to do it again. If I cant be positive then I'll just refrain from saying anything!
