Mental Filter - picking out single negative detail and dwelling on it exclusively - like drop of ink clouding the whole glass
Emotional Reasoning - feeling that your feelings are reality - I feel it, therefore it must be true.
I've just started reading that book and I'm going through Chapter 3 right now. I am hoping it can sort out my negative thinking which I think is the culprit for how I feel a lot of the time.
