Hi, Wombat -- This one is down my alley. I recently was diagnosed initially with an adrenal "mass" after I got my own CT scan and MRI done due to a pain in my abdomen. I went in for surgery to remove it (the adrenal gland), and it was noticed the mass wasn't on my adrenal gland at all. It ended up being a paraganglioma. It is a very rare turmor and in most cases -- like 97% of them, surgery cures it (although for now I have to have some further testing done, and be watched for a bit to make sure that was the only one -- joy!). Sadly, I had to lose a perfectly healthy adrenal gland to this thing, but like with Cushins, once it is removed, you are cured. That's good news. Has it helped in my anxiety? I don't know. There have been moments I have suffered, but that could be post surgical stuff (it has only been 8 weeks since my surgery). Maybe in 6 months I'll better know. Wouldn't that be great, though??!! I would love to live life free of anxiety! My best to you and please keep me posted!! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to PM me. Hugs, Wiskers ~
