I wondered when best to take I got given them today to
help with my heightened anxiety. I tend to start work at different times of the day so wondered if about 6pm was a good time to take so feel sleepy later?
Thanks

I take my meds every evening so that I can be sure to take them at the same time every day. Also, as you say, this means I am not drowsy during the day.
Hi
I used to take my Citalopram mid afternoon, however the chemist put on the prescription box to take in the morning. I have asked why this is and was told so that the benefits are felt more during the day and possibly more effective - but the only problem I find with taking 40mg in the morning is that by the afternoon I am so sleepy.
After my first couple of weeks on citalopram, where I woke every night with severe panic attacks, I always make sure I take my meds in the morning. I will never take medication at night again.
PS Bugger it, I forgot to order my repeat prescription again.

What would you do if you weren't afraid?
I drew the line between hope and despair, and the line will hold.
"Forth now, and fear no darkness!"
I have always taken mine around 6pm. I liked the idea of taking them when I was at home, as when I started taking them I got jittery and nauseous, and I always preferred experiencing those feelings when I was at home rather than on a bus to work
I don't get these side effects now, but I'm just in the habit of taking them in the early evening. I haven't noticed any problems with this
