Hi, I'm aware some ares of UK are easier to get the med prescribed than others, so a wee poll, how did you find it to get prescribed, did you have to suggest it, was your doc unwilling to prescribe and where in uk are you?

Very easy - asked GP in Scotland..
GP in England said it was psychiatrist only prescription, but he's talking nonsense..

I've been on pretty much every SSRI which hasn't worked. I've also seen a lot of GP's. Some angered me with their opinions and some were really open to treatments. I've found one who knows i research and know a lot about psychological problems. She asked me what i thought about my treatment and i suggested duloxetine or pregabalin sounded like the next shot. She asked me which one i preferred and i went with the latter. If every GP listened to their patient and took an open approach to treatment with the patient, the world would be a much better place.

My GP also said that they were only ever allowed to prescribe SSRI's but that has now been relaxed, probably due to NHS cutbacks. If a GP says they can't administer it to you, they're talking through their backside. At the end, it comes down to pregabalin costs them more money than other medications
Suggested and prescribed by an English GP.. ( A good one )
spoke to my GP about this yesterday, he said he cannot prescribe it as unlicensed for use in Scotland. He has referred me to a psychiatrist though and said if he recommends it then he will prescribe, so watch this space
