Anyone reduced their sertraline dose? How did you go about it? I am thinking of coming down from 100 mg to 50 mg to see if it helps with some side effects. Should I go straight down to 50mg or take 75 mg for some time first? Thank you

It’s bruxism, been experiencing that for a few months now. Thank you for the advice.
Have you mentioned it to your GP? The addition of 10-40mg of buspirone (Buspar) will often resolve it. Buspirone is a GAD specific med which works well for some, but not for most but when taken with serotonergic ADs it may increase their effectiveness and diminish their side-effects.
Sertraline, fluoxetine, paroxetine and venlafaxine are the ADs most likely to trigger bruxism although it may occur with any of the SSRIs and SNRIs. It is less common with TCAs except maybe clomipramine. Switching to another SSRI like citalopram, or escitalopram is an option worth considering if the GP won't prescribe buspirone, however, there are no guarantees.

I’ve discussed it with the GP, he’s not keen on prescribing more than a week’s supply of buspirone at a time. So I’m trying to reduce the dose to see if it helps.
