    am i going crazy?

    hi
woke again today with feelings of losing control or the strong sense of going mad..i haven't had a panic attack for a few days and before that a few weeks..are these sensations a build up to an attack...and is it possible to go crazy if i dont control it (whatever that means!)...the sensations are so powerful that they leave me exhausted..is there anything i can do..am convinced that there's something more to it and that i'm going to become a schizophrenic or something and then be sectioned???its so difficult to put into words the feelings going on in my head..

Hi evenflow, I know exactly what you are going through but it cannot turn into a schitzophrenia or other psychotic illness. If you think of it this way, people with a psychotic illness know they have this label but they don't know when they are having a psychotic episode. Their illness is just an illness of the mind whereas, ours is a neurotic illness and our illness is of the mind and the body e.g tight chest, jelly legs and all the other tetrrible symptoms people get.

I hope this helps and you begin to get better soon

    Take care

    Hi

I know how you feel too.

The mornings are often the worst for me because I wake up and for a moment, I feel normal. Then I always get upset when I realsie the feelings are still there.

Most of the time, I just get up and get on with the day. The kids are a real distraction.

I always find logging on to this site is a wonderful way of putting things into perspective. We are all in the same boat and can reassure eachother.

Hope you are feeling better soon.

    Hi Evenflow

No, you are definitely not going crazy or developing schizophrenia and these are common worries with anxiety. If you were 'going mad' you would have no concept or insight into what was happening. People with psychosis usually believe everything they think and believe it is the rest of the world who are mad.

Hi Evenflow, you are defo not going mad, this is just another part of the dreadful anxiety, I get these feelings all of the time and imagine that I am going to end up being taken away in a white coat, but people with major problems are unaware that they have a problem in the first place, as others have already pointed out.

    Best wishes,
