    Panic attacks

    Hi my name is Simone!

Im new to the website, its just fantastic! Just reading that other people have the same condition and syptoms is so relieving.

Ive suffered with panic attacks since the age of 20 I am now 24, my life has been on hold, I havent travelled out of Lincoln for nearly 5 years.

The doctor has diagnoised my anxiety as Globus Hystericus - difficulty in swallowing/choking sensation. In 5 years I still havent managed to cope with the attacks or calm myself down.

One day I hope to managed my attacks and go on holiday to somewhere tropical!

Thank you for making the time to read my problem!

    Hi Simone

Welcome to this forum and I know what you mean about finding a site where you can read about people suffering with the same or similar anxieties as yourself.

It's great to know you are not alone or strange!!

You'll get lots of advice and support here. I'm sure you will get to that tropical place one day

    Hi Simone

Welcome to the forum. It certainly is reassuring when you realise you are not alone.

The throat symptoms you mention are common and you might like to read the posts MORE HORRID SYMPTOMS!!!! and A strange one, anyone else experienced similar?? about this.

Also have a look at the First Steps information.

Are you receiving any help from a therapist for this at all?

Interesting that your doctor diagnosed your panic AS Globus Hystericus.

We see it more as one symptom of a larger anxiety picture.

Maybe it is having this symptom that causes you to panic - but what caused the symptom initially ??

Wade your way through some of these to see you're in good company and can be overcome

Your anxiety is the human representation of the pictures that you paint using your many vivid colours of revolving and reoccurring thoughts.
